Workout at Plaza Museum District
Posted on August 25, 2010 · Leave a CommentOne of my favorite features here at Plaza Museum District is our great 24 hour fitness center. I like that I don’t have to pay for a gym membership else where and if I feel like working out at 4 am I can. Because I am still up, not because I woke up to workout.
Our fitness center has both free and control weights as well as complementary water and towels. Another added bonus is that you can use your own shower! Which is nice, because I hate lugging toiletries around. Of course, like most gyms, ours also has tv that you can watch while working out.
Exercise is really important to your overall health. You should use the gym often, after all it is free.

Tom Petty with ZZ Top, Rush, 2 Great Nights at Woodlands
Posted on August 16, 2010 · Leave a CommentI am going to call September, “Classic Rock Month at the Woodlands”. I mean, it is cool if you don’t but at the end of September, Tom Petty and ZZ Top are playing the Woodlands the night before Rush takes the stage. Call me booked the night of the 24th and 25th.
Tom Petty was my favorite when I was little, I could not get enough of his music. Especially “American Girl”. And, is there a band more Texan than ZZ Top? Still the greatest band to come out of Houston.
And then you have Rush, who are rock royalty. Does it get any better than Geddy lee and Neil Peart? This is the best Canadian import ever! (Yes Hockey Fans even better than Crosby). After all, living in the limelight is the universal dream.
Are you going to get tickets to these great shows?

Unique to Houston
Posted on August 10, 2010 · Leave a CommentYou are no doubt a fan of the many great museums we have here in Houston. We here at Plaza Museum District are in the perfect location to visit the museums on a regualr basis. One of the ones that I find most fascinating is the Byzantine Fresco Chapel Museum, which is part of the Menil Collection.
The Byzantine Fresco Chapel Museum has original fresco from a church in Cypress that was looted during the Turkish Occupation of the country in the 1980’s. The Menil Collection purchased the fresco’s from the thieves, with the permission of the orginal church and put them on display here in Houston.
Houston is the only city in the Whole Western Hemisphere to have a collection like this. It is that rare. Have you visited yet?

The Mad Potter
Posted on August 5, 2010 · Leave a CommentCrafting is right up my alley. One of my favorite activities a paint your own pottery. We have a great chain here in Houston, The Mad Potter. The Mad Potter now has 3 Houston locations: In River Oak, Bellaire and West.
It is your basic, pick something and paint. But oh so much fun. They have special deals going on like date night on Friday’s and Diva Night, this month on the 19th with wine tasting.
The Mad Potter is great for dates, it is really fun to create with each other and then have a competition to see who was the better artist. Pieces start at $8.00. I like to go one Tuesdays for Two For Tuesday!
Have you ever painted your own pottery?
